FAQs

  • A certified nurse midwife (CNM) is a licensed healthcare provider with advanced training in both nursing and midwifery. CNMs are certified to provide a full range of care, including pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and general reproductive health. Unlike some traditional or community midwives, CNMs are also trained to work in hospitals and collaborate with physicians when needed.

  • Eden centers care around the whole person— focusing on your individual goals and needs when it comes to maternity care. Eden spends more time with patients, prioritize shared decision-making, and support natural birth on your own terms.

  • A home birth is a planned experience in a familiar, comfortable setting, attended by one of our skilled midwives. Safety is always prioritized, with clear plans in place if a transfer to a hospital is needed.

  • At Eden, we see our patients as active partners in their care. Informed consent involves open, respectful communication about options, risks, and preferences. We value collaboration between the patient and the provider, honoring the patient’s voice and values throughout pregnancy and birth.

  • Our birth package includes the following:

    • Complete prenatal care with routine scheduling

    • Labs, ultrasounds, and prescriptions

    • Support and education throughout care

    • Home birth

    • Postpartum care up to 5 visits

    • Well baby care for up to two weeks

  • Yes! Our midwives are certified, trained, and equipped to prescribe medication and to take labs.

  • At Eden, we believe that women should be actively involved and understood by their birth provider. We take time to get to know you, your family, your goals and your environment in order to give you a safe and personalized birth experience.

  • Yes! Eden offers home water births as desired.
