Treating Nausea & Vomiting

Sometimes the first trimester can bring on nausea, vomiting and fatigue. This is due to an overwhelming amount of hormones in your system! It should improve as you move into your second trimester but in the meantime here are some things you can try. If you are unable to keep food or water down for 24 hours, please contact the midwife urgent phone. Feeling bad is never fun...but in this case it's worth it!

There is a prescriptive medication that we can call in for severe cases. Please reach out to the midwife call phone if you feel you are in need of additional support.

The good news is this is temporary and you should start to feel relief from the nausea and vomiting as your first trimester comes to an end.

You are not alone. We are here to support you every step of the way.

What We Recommend

These are our basic suggestions for how to self-manage your experience of nausea during the first two trimesters, though we are happy to assist you individually as your needs change and adapt. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
